Awing Part 15 - White paint again

The first coat of white paint was too thin, so i did another one.

Not really great for the back... i'm guessing that the weathering to be done will give a better result.
I then sanded the paint in order to smooth the brush marks.

I paint in black the area of the blaster on each side.

And another coat of white paint... where i changed from on brush to another one in the middle of the session... we can see that it's totally different on the top of the body, from left to right...
So i'll have to sand it again and adjust... this paint is starting to be a nightmare!

Mustang Part 4 - Engine and seats

Finishing assembling the seats with the back part, mastic, sanding off, and then re-graving lightly the seam line.

Ford blue paint applied, few spots to be corrected.

Same for the aircleaner, little spots to be corrected, but mainly allright.

Mustang Part 3 - Engine and more

With the easter weekend, i had some time to work on the Mustang.
Preparing the air cleaner filter and some various others parts before painting.
The air cleaner is supposedly chrome but it's more blue and just chrome on the top.

I sanded the exhausts manifolds a little bit to wipe the seam lines.

Oilfilter is painted and ready to be put on.
Beginning to work on the seats.
Water pump have been added.

Mustang Part 2 - Engine

While i've all the paint job on Awing fighter, i'm making time to work on the 'stang.
I've gone through numerous websites to check the paint color of the engine, there are various differences between the parts (gearbox, main block engine...) to be all in ford blue, black, silver, steel, etc...
At the end, there are no right/wrong decisions!

So i began to build the engine part, filling the seam line and painting silver the gearbox.

Awing Part 14 - White paint

After two layers of black paint, i removed the tapes from the canopy and i came out quite clean, not perfect but that's OK.

For the cockpit, it's quite good, but corrections to be done later and much detailing inside.

I've been working on the putty again.

A little bit of tape, and we're ready for flat white coat. It's rather difficult to apply with brush and will reclaim two layers at minimum.

After waiting the painted to be cured, i'm not happy with the seams line, it's horrible!
More work to be done. Furthermore, i made the error to glue all the engine part with LED inside instead of, at least, paint the engine exhausts, it will be difficult!

At least the helmet pilot is good.

Awing Part 13 - Black paint

First off, i needed to wash out the black paint from the canopy which was not properly done before.
Then i apply the masking tape on the canopy.
I glue the seat into the cockpit.
I drill some holes in the blasters.
Ready to paint now! After two layers of black paint, here are the results.
Little drybrush on the pilot and grey helmet.
