Knight Rider 2000 - Part 5

It has been a little while, but the fact is that i wanted to test out the polish product this time. So after painting the body, i wetsanded it and polish it, what a difference compared to the bare paint where some dusts get into it, it is really good.
Bellow are the pics after paint, then wet sanded, and polished.

Knight Rider 2000 - Part 4

I have worked on the past few weeks on the interior, finishing up the dashboard, applying the decals and try to do the LED lights. I would say i am not very satisfied with those lights, it is very very tiny and i don't have the proper paint to do this. So it what it is for now.

Knight Rider 2000 - Part 3

Good progress on the chassis, i am quite satisfied how it turned out.
Interior and door panels are almost done. Flat back is not as good as done with an airbrush, but i am OK with it. Couple of washes to be done and some detailing as well.

Knight Rider 2000 - Part 2

This is summer, and this is a period where i usually want to spend some time on the bench. However, it is really really HOT in NYC this year, so it is quite difficult to be 'at ease' with those temperatures. Especially, with the acrylic paint, it dries very quickly.
Anyway, here i am.
On the chassis, i put the suspension, no issue, and multiple layers of black flat paint (at least 3).
Brakes are done. I need to paint the drivetrain in silver and finish to put it together.
Exhausts had visible mold lines that i cleaned up and re-paint over it.
Dashboard is paint in black, and next step will be to do all the little tiny LED lights. This is going to be a challenge!
Panel doors are in progress, going to adjust the black paint a little bit after i layer them with washes, in the same way i did for the seats.

Knight Rider 2000 - Part 1

It have been a while since my last articles. I moved between countries and had difficulties to find time to start a new project.
Anyway, here is a model i wanted to make since a long time, Knight Rider, the mythic car of the 80's.
I got the model from Aoshima manufactor, a japonese company, and the quality is very good. Level is detail is impressive and there is not a lot of cleaning to do. There is no engine part unfortunately, but, i got the part for the red LED slider which is cool!
Since i am no longer using my airbrush, i switch to acrylic and will try the spray paint which is a new technic for me. Compared to enamel, i see that i need to paint several layers when using the brush, but it is more easy to use.
So, started the model slowly with the wheels, interior and chassis.

Dodge Challenger Part 9 - Final

Finally the dodge is done, i wanted to keep it minimal for the decals.
It took me one year, but i'm satisfied with the results.

Dodge Challenger Part 8

It has been a while, but i'm back to finish up this car.
After re-painting the body i used the micro mesh to get a better finish without going to far into the paint. It was OK, not the mirror finish that i expected but that's better than before. I put everything together, only the back bumper was difficult to glue.
Only the decals to be done and this is finished.
